The complete guide and overview to the Best Hostels in Krabi, Thailand

Update: During C*v** many hostels in Thailand suffered and as such the below hostels have closed.

    CLOSED: Link Hostel

Our #1 choice in Krabi is your link to a great hostel. Get it? Ok, that was bad.

But seriously, Link Hostel is without doubt the coolest hostel in the area and perfect for solo travellers, backpackers and friends. Definitely, the best place to stay in Krabi for solo traveller.

That’s because you won’t find a private room in sight.

Instead, there are beautifully designed 6-bed dorms with pod-beds to die for. But don’t actually die as there is so much to enjoy here!

There are actually four 6-bed dorms, two of which are mixed and two female-only.

Hint: decide if you’d like a shared or private bathroom and book accordingly.

We warn you now; it could be very easy to spend too much time curled up on your bed.

    That’s because you’ll find:

    • Garden, pool & mountain views
    • Personal socket, light, curtain & locker
    • Air conditioning
    • Free WiFi

Trust us when we say that you won’t regret peeling yourself away from ultimate comfort.

This boutique hostel also has a sizeable swimming pool attached to a spacious garden and undercover seating area.

Rent a bicycle to enjoy the immediate neighborhood. It’s second best to wandering around by foot.

If you’re feeling peckish, visit the best Krabi restaurants and grab some free snacks.

There’s also tea and coffee available all day which is always a bonus.

In the evenings there is often entertainment – meeting people made easy.

Although the reception is only open from 06:00 to 22:00, there is no curfew here.

Just be aware that check in has to happen during reception open hours.

Location: Link is found 23km from Ao Nang and around 15-minutes from the beach.

This is one of the best hostels in Ao Nang. You could also show your love to LGBT community since Ao Nang has a Krabi gay beach.

It’s the ideal location if you like to be in a quieter area. There’s access to a Krabi shuttle bus, taxi and mopeds to get further afield.

Link Hostel is one of the best hostels in Krabi, Thailand

    CLOSED: Surf Hostel

Who’s ready for modern social spaces and a friendly welcome?

At Surf Hostel you’ll get both and more.

It’s evident from the many reviews that the staff here really stand out and do a good job of giving every guest the same attention.

We wouldn’t have it any other way!

As a brand new hostel on the block, you can expect spotless spaces and clever design.

There is a good choice of rooms including:

    • Superior 8-bed mixed dorm
    • Deluxe 6-bed mixed dorm
    • Deluxe 6-bed female dorm

Once again, sorry couples: no private rooms here.

One positive thing about that means a lot of attention and detail has gone in to the dorm rooms.

Under some of the bunks you’ll find cosy seating areas and in others there are TV screens at the foot of the bed.

No matter which one you end up in, enjoy a

    • curtain,
    • shelf
    • and plug socket.

These dorms are a perfect balance of social and private space. A great way to test out if you’re a lover of shared space or not.

On the ground floor is an open plan space for everyone to enjoy.

Here you’ll find a small cafe, reception, tour desk and ample space to chill and/or chat the day away.

The sofas are great for reading a book. Or perhaps you’re a digital nomad?

In that case you’ll appreciate the table and chair combination.

Just try not to get too distracted by the large window looking out on to the street.

Free breakfast is included and the staff are known to rustle up something delicious for vegans/vegetarians.

Location: Ao Nang beach is a 10 minute walk from Surf Hostel, located in a peaceful neighbourhood.

There is a cute restaurant directly opposite worth a visit.

    CLOSED: Talardkao Balcony

Ok, forget big chain hostels for a minute. Talardkao Balcony Krabi is a charming boutique hostel and an obvious home-from-home choice.

This is one of the best hostels in Krabi for travellers looking to be away from the tourist hub and party scene.

It’s run by a small, happy family. Doesn’t that just bring nothing but a smile to your face?

It’s a space designed to un-wind and switch off. You won’t find a TV here!

But fear not, there is still free Wi-Fi to help you stay connected.

And guess what? This hostel has private rooms available, and they’re gorgeous.

We really love the homely details in each room that will have you feeling so settled it will be hard to pack up and move on.

Honestly, Talardkao is all about the rooms and the building is minimalistic without much in the way of social spaces.

That’s why we recommend this to couples and small families that are looking for a clean, budget option.

It’s also a great choice for travellers that like the option of socialising in a small setting.

The mixed dorms only have 4 beds so it’s not an overwhelming space.

Location: being close to the Krabi airport, this is a great choice if you’re flying out the next day.

Krabi Town is 5km away so requires transport – it’s very close to the bus station.
