What about cheapest hostels in Bilbao?

Of course, there are always cheap hostels. Forget Bilbao hotels!

We think, it’s not worth it to go with the cheapest hostel out there.

Why?

The difference is usually 1-2€ ($1-2) per night, and a lot of amenities are not included. This can be breakfast or linen.

However, if you are traveling on a shoe-string budget and you wanna save every penny, there are ways to find the cheapest places in Bilbao.

  1. Open Hostelworld with full list of budget places to stay in Bilbao
  2. Order the listing by price

Simple as that.

Read: 15 hacks for booking hostels

Make sure you use then the other filters and rank per price.

Also keep a close eye on the ratings, especially the “extreme ratings”. Meaning, the best and worst. These ratings can give great insight on what to expect.

Here are three options of budget accommodation Bilbao to consider:

  1. Bilbao Aterpetxea Hostel – large place, not too close to the centre
  2. Bilbao Central Hostel – basic set up, doors not locked (does offer free breakfast)
  3. Pil Pil Hostel Bilbao Spain – great private rooms for couples

Best Hostels in Bilbao for Solo Travellers?

This is quite simple, so we’ll keep it as such.

If you’re a solo lady, there is no better place to stay than Poshtel Bilbao – Premium Hostel. The female-only dorms come with an ensuite and there’s a hostel bar and sauna.

Otherwise, solo travellers should head to Quartier Bilbao Hostel. It’s set in a quiet area and comes with a huge range of rooms to match your social energy level.

Party Hostels in Bilbao

It’s wrong to describe Bilbao as a party destination. Yet that doesn’t mean there aren’t good times to be had here!

We vote Poshtel Bilbao – Premium Hostel as the best party hostel in Bilbao.

But hang on: it’s not technically a party hostel. That’s important!

Instead, it offers an on-site bar and close proximity to great nightlife in the city.

So, enjoy a few drinks at the hostel with new friends, and head to town once it closes.

Bcool Bilbao – CLOSED

Update: Sadly, this hostel is now permanently closed.

With cheap tapas, designer decor and a location in Bilbao’s hipster neighbourhood; Bcool Bilbao is an edgy hostel we know you’ll love.

Re-vamped in 2017, this historic building reflects the ambience of the coolest area in the city.

On sunny days, we suggest you make the most of the large terrace space.

If it turns colder, keep warm in the chill out zone which includes a kitchen, TV and comfy sofa.

Let’s have a sneaky peak at the room choices:

  • 4, 6 and 8-bed mixed dorms
  • 6-bed mixed dorm w/ private bathroom
  • 6-bed female dorm w/ private bathroom
  • Double room (private bathroom)

All beds come with privacy curtains, private lockers and Wifi access.

Great: there are also adapted rooms for people with disabilities.

On Saturdays there is a FREE walking tour of the city. It’s a top thing to do after enjoying a yummy breakfast for just a few euros.

There’s no need to worry about getting to bed early, either – check out is at 12pm, with a 2pm check out available for a little extra.

Location: It’s located 40-minutes from the airport, and 10-minutes from Bilbao-Abando station. Here you’ll be surrounded by trendy bars, boutique shops and fun street art. Some of the top sights of the city center are within walking distance.
