Miami is much more than just a party city. Immerse yourself in its distinctive culture, breathtaking scenery, and legendary gastronomy scene. It provides a flavour of Latin America without you having to leave the United States, which is a huge benefit for any visitor interested in culture.

Try Cuban cuisine’s distinctive tastes and get a little too buzzed on Cuban coffee, which may be the gasoline that keeps this wild city running. Miami also boasts outstanding cuisine in every other category. This city has an abundance of culinary options, ranging from high-end sushi restaurants to budget-friendly street trucks offering delicious food. It can also be rather artistic, with a yearly international art festival and other pop-up events that take place all year long in its fashionable Wynwood area.

However, one of the most compelling reasons to visit one of America’s southernmost cities is undoubtedly the city’s legendary partying culture, which is undoubtedly a part of the Miami experience. You’ll understand why this is the party city after just one glamorous evening with some well-known acts.

South Beach is probably how most people expect Miami to be in reality: glamorous, active, and full of beaches and boardwalks. All the most popular beaches, as well as many well-known attractions, are located in this area of the city. However, Miami Beach is a sizable city with a wide variety of activities, so get set to roam about!

The fabled Ocean Drive starts at South Pointe Park and wraps out at 15th Street. Although it is a touristic area filled with antique vehicles and cabana hats, it is nonetheless a wonderful location to wander about. The Lincoln Road Mall is another well-known outdoor retail complex featuring a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options.

The Art Deco District, which has numerous chic buildings, especially those on renowned Collins Avenue, is one of Miami Beach’s outstanding features. Visit the Wolfsonian Museum to see further examples of this design.

Since the highlight of Miami is its buzzing nightlife scene, so you should know a few things before you start partying. There is a huge variety of nightclubs and bars to dance the night away. However, some of them can be hard to get into. Mainly, the reason for this is people not following the dress code since venues can be pretty strict about this rule. With that in mind, you should pack dressy attire like fine-denim jeans, formal slacks with dress shoes, button-ups and collared shirts. Additionally, make-up and accessories can go a long way. Finally, make sure that you’re composed while waiting in line and keep your attitude proper – while bouncers check whether you’re following the dress code, they’ll also keep an eye out for your behaviour before you’re let inside.

Backpacking tips for Miami

Before we continue with our handpicked party hostels in Miami, here are some tips.

  • A former industrial area, Wynwood has transformed into a cultural centre and hotspot for graffiti and street art, as well as for chic boutiques, hip eateries, laid-back coffee shops, craft brewers, and art galleries. Watch for the Wynwood Walls, a collection of 40 murals created by some of the top street artists in the world. Additionally, the area is home to the Museum of Graffiti, the first museum in the world devoted to this kind of art.
  • Hostels in Miami charge between 13 and 27 euros per night for a bed in a dorm room. A private room costs between 100 and 250 euros per night. This is an approximate average. Season and holidays will always have an impact on prices.
  • Certain luxurious clubs in Miami are known to have hefty entrance fees, ranging from $20 up to $40. However, the prices vary from locale to locale, depending on their exclusivity.
  • The view from the highest point in the city, the Key Biscayne Bridge that connects the key to the rest of Miami, may be the greatest in the entire city. The finest area in Miami to work out is probably where you’ll see the most walkers, runners, and bikers. Grab a bicycle and go on your spontaneous two-wheeled adventure.
  • In addition to the entrance fees, the prices for drinks may be high in certain venues. For instance, if you’re heading to a nightclub in Downtown Miami, a simple cocktail will cost you around $17. The prices also vary from the neighbourhood where the locale is set and their exclusivity. For more budget-friendly options, head to South Beach.

Things to Bring & Pack

There are a few things backpackers should be sure to bring when staying at a party hostel specifically. These items include earplugs (for early mornings and loud roomates), a padlock (lock up your valuables BEFORE going out), headache medicine (always usefful!), and condoms.

Especially for the bigger European cities where pickpocketing is common we recommend wearing trousers with zippers. This limits the chances of stealing from your pockets.
