Who can you vote for? Below we list all 5 finalists for the 5 categories available. You can only vote for one hostel per category.

1. The Community Champion

Being a home for international travelers and supporting their own community; this is what The Community Champion is all about. This award is open to hostels that have done their utmost to drive community change including promoting local culture, social initiatives or improved economic practises.

There are many ways to make the world a better place. Below you find the 5 finalists, supporting the local community in different ways that do well to stand out from the crowd.

2. The Eco-Warrior

This award is solely focused on hostels that greatly support the sustainability and protection of our environment. Because let’s face it, without the world, we wouldn’t have hostels!

The hostels in this selection are celebrated for their eco-friendly projects and practises. Everything from community-based tours, sustainable initiatives and eco-friendly lodging – as long as travellers are encouraged and inspired to adopt a sustainable lifestyle, a hostel is considered for the Eco-Warrior award.

3. The New Hostel on the Block

Opening a brand new hostel is challenging at the best of times, but to do so in 2021?! Hats off.

This award looks to celebrate the stories of brand new hostels on the block and see what it is that gives them a cutting edge above the rest.

4. The People Person

Without a doubt, memorable social experiences are at the heart of great hostels. And so, The People Person winner will certainly tick all the boxes when it comes to safe, fun and epic social opportunities!

Connecting with like-minded travellers should be easy at a hostel, and the winner of this award will have gone above and beyond to deliver crowd-pleasing initiatives that will be remembered for a lifetime.

5. The Digital Nomad

The remote worker revolution is in full swing and hostels are quickly catching on to excellent ways of accommodating digital nomads.

How about mixing hostel social life with dedicated co-working spaces? Sounds perfect. The Digital Nomad award is up for grabs for any hostel that has successfully merged social spaces with a wandering worker’s dream workspace (in a gorgeous corner of the world).
