1. 9 Station Hostel & Bar
Let’s kick start with the most sociable and impressive hostel on the island.
9 Station Hotel & Bar is an incredible accommodation for backpackers to stay in Phu Quoc Island, in more ways than one!
It happens to be located right in Duong Dong downtown area, which means that it’s literally a few minutes from the beach and an easy 5km from Phu Quoc international airport.
And yes as we already mentioned, it’s a 5 star hostel, and one of the hostels on our list of best beach hostels worldwide.
Read: Full review of 9 Station Hostel & Bar
It’s a big place, with a capacity for 200 guests spread over 38 delicately furnished shared and private rooms.
There are so many reasons we absolutely love this hostel. It’s actually not possible to list them all here.
Yet, we want to give you a good overview before you book. Prepare yourself for:
- Swimming pool in the garden
- Happy Hour every day
- Chill-out lounge w/ pool table, foosball & sofas
- Outdoor tables & great views
- Motorbike/bicycle rental
9 Station Hostel is also home to a private boat tour which is aptly named 9TOUR. This is your chance to explore the small islands surrounding Phu Quoc Island!
If you’re keen for a fun, social time then we can’t recommend this hostel enough.
Awesome events are always happening here, including beer pong, pool parties and pool tournaments. There’s much fun to be had!
Don’t miss out on the regular 9DINNER as this is an easy way to break the ice with other travellers.
When it’s time to rest your weary head, you’re in for a real treat. The shared dorms vary in size, from a cosy 4-bed to a much larger 12-bed. There’s also an 8-bed female only dorm.
Huge lockers and a privacy curtain is included for everyone – yes!

2. Phu House
Hands up if you’re keen to stay at a more traditional Vietnamese accommodation! We’ve found an ideal hostel for you, in that case.
Phu House is a mix of traditional and modern design which embodies a cosy and comfortable atmosphere that is hard to beat.
The skylight in the middle of the building lets in tons of natural light and is a real highlight of the property.
This is not just a hostel, but also a bar and skyline rooftop cafe.
Up on the rooftop it’s possible to watch the sunset as you sip your favourite drink and dine on yummy Vietnamese or Western cuisine.
To keep you entertained, the team organise weekly events at the Phu House Bar, such as:
- All-you-can-drink deals (every Monday)
- Buy 1 get 1 free drinks (Friday nights)
- Free beer EVERYDAY from 5-5:30pm
Super cool: Ask staff at reception about joining boat and land tours with local guides.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re a backpacker or travelling couple – Phu House has plenty of room types to choose from.
Dorm rooms come with 4, 8 and 12-beds, and each bed has a privacy curtain and locker. Air conditioning is also included.
Otherwise, the superior and deluxe double rooms are perfect for cute couples and anyone travelling solo with a bit more money. The warm lighting adds a real rustic charm.
Location: Situated just 200m from Long Beach Centre. The beach is just a 5-minute walk and there is a bus stop right outside the hostel.
This is one of the best hostels in Phu Quoc for
- Couples
- Older travellers

3. Fine9 Hostel
To round off this collection, we thought it a good idea to include a more intimate hostel option that has a quieter atmosphere.
Fine9 Hostel is cosy because there is only one room here – a 10-bed mixed dormitory.
The room itself is lovely. There’s a huge window letting in lots of light, a desk with stools, privacy curtains on all the beds and big lockers for your valuables.
When you’re not sleeping or socialising in the room, make the most of the attractive living room area which is full of books, plants and bright decor.
Fine9 is located in the heart of Duong Dong town, just a few steps from Phu Quoc night market which is a big attraction.
Yet, even though you’ll be located in the middle of the busy nightlife, the room is on the second floor and nice and quiet.
You can enjoy a coffee out on the street seating in front of the hostel and watch the world pass by.
Either that or take a stroll to Dinh Cau beach which is an easy 5 minutes away.
It’s possible to rent a motorbike from reception if you fancy exploring the area on two wheels. The tour desk will happily help you with booking local trips, too.
And yes, there is free wifi so don’t panic!
Good to know: Reception is open 24/7 and there is no curfew here.

What about cheapest hostels in Phu Quoc?
Of course, there are always cheap hostels. Forget Phu Quoc hotels!
We think, it’s not worth it to go with the cheapest hostel out there.
Why?
The difference is usually 1-2€ ($1-2) per night, and a lot of amenities are not included. This can be breakfast or linen.
However, if you are traveling on a shoe-string budget and you wanna save every penny, there are ways to find the cheapest places in Phu Quoc.
- Open Hostelworld with full list of budget places to stay in Phu Quoc
- Order the listing by price
Simple as that.

Best Hostels in Phu Quoc for Solo Travellers?
What is seriously the best hostel in Phu Quoc for solo-travellers?
We don’t even need to give this a second thought; 9 Station Hostel & Bar is without doubt the best option for solo travellers!
These guys know how to show you a good time and make sure solo travellers don’t feel at a loose end.
Meet fellow travellers out by the swimming pool, in the lounge or over a game of pool. The 9DINNER is also designed to help you make new friends whilst enjoying good food.
If you’re feeling really social you could sleep in the 12-bed dorm, or enjoy a nice balance by booking your stay in a smaller 4-bed.
Either way, you’ll have a privacy curtain to draw across when you’ve had enough.

Party Hostels in Phu Quoc
Phu Quoc Island isn’t really known for crazy party vibes which is great because we promised you respite from “young party kids”.
Though it isn’t technically classed as a party hostel, we once again want to recommend 9 Station Hostel & Bar here.
As the name suggests, there is a hostel bar onsite and with great drink deals and fun party games organised, this makes for a wonderful lively stay.
Join in occasional pool parties, beer pong and pool tournaments. The everyday Happy Hour is sure to get the good vibes flowing!

More Hostels worth a Mention
Whilst you’re here, have a quick look at The Vibe House if you’re keen for a slow paced, quiet and relaxed hostel.
There aren’t any organised activities happening here so it’s the kind of place you go to if you’re happy doing your own thing and want to primarily relax.
The dorm rooms are kept small with just 4 beds, and the 7 double private rooms on offer are basic yet comfortable.
Psst! The regular Vibe Dinner is for everyone to join in and a great way to mingle with others if you feel like it.
There’s air con, good showers, motorbike/scooter hire and a boat tour to the archipelago that runs twice a week.
