Selina hostels are well-known for their modern design and luxurious beds. It’s no different at the new Selina NQ1 Manchester hostel!

Our disclaimer: This hostel is excellent – we haven’t listed it here only because there are few hostels in this city.

Get ready for privacy-led bunks, a spacious and comfortable hostel bar and awesome location slap bang in the Northern Quarter.

Yep, stay here and you’ll be surrounded by the best independent bars and traditional pubs in the city!

Whilst this isn’t technically a party hostel, it’s certainly a good choice if you enjoy nightlife and drinking.

There’s a range of rooms. From family and and twin rooms, to 4-8 beds mixed dorms and a suite with extra large double bed.

The hostel reflects the city in that it definitely doesn’t lack character.

It has rooms ranging from 12 bed dorms to private rooms with en-suites, with each bed having it’s own power socket and light.

Upon entering, the decor is very modern and sleek, adding an element of old-school class.

Despite the polished first impressions, you are instantly made to feel at home with free cookies and tea/coffee which are provided by the friendly staff.

You can enjoy these freebies in the hostel’s

  • shared kitchen,
  • relaxing lounge area or TV room
  • and even a PlayStation!

This inviting atmosphere certainly doesn’t end with free biscuits!

Hatters on Newton Street may be the bargain you’ve been looking for.

The rooms at this simplistic hostel range from private bedrooms to 18-bed dorms, with prices starting as low as £13 a night! So here you have it, here you find your cheap hostel in Manchester.

Don’t let the price fool you into thinking this place lacks taste.

The hostel itself used to be a hat factory, an unusual quirk which only adds to the industrial charm of Hatters. Sticking to the working-class roots of Manchester, this basic hostel offers no frills or fancies. Instead, it provides a warm, down to earth atmosphere with plenty of friendly faces.
