Xin chào and welcome to the best hostels in Dalat!
Dalat in Vietnam is more about nature and coffee, and less about partying. We suggest skipping busy, noisy Nha Trang and visiting Dalat instead. Here you will get a much better local perspective of Vietnam.
There are still a few hostels in this collection that encourage bringing people together for a good time. Just don’t expect a crazy party hostel Dalat scene.
Good to know: Da Lat or Dalat, both are correct city names. Same thing!
We’ve worked hard to find you sturdy bunkbeds, fun social vibes and excellent balcony mountain views.
The #1 thing we love about Dalat hostels is the inclusion of family dinners!

The 3 Best Hostels in Dalat
Let’s jump right into the boutique hostels in Da Lat. The best of Dalat is right here…
We put all three accommodation on the map, you will find the map at the end of the article.
1. Cozy Nook Hostel
Let’s not waste any time and jump straight in to our #1 hostel in Da Lat: Cozy Nook Hostel. This is easily the best place to stay in Dalat.
Quite expectedly, the family that run this hostel have one goal in mind for their guests, and that is…
“…to make your stay as cosy, relaxed and convenient as possible.”
From the thousands of reviews, it would seem that they have done a splendid job in doing just that.
The family built the hostel themselves and opened the doors in 2015. Ever since they have worked hard to create an authentic Vietnamese experience.
So, what can you expect once you check in?
- Free breakfast
- Free parking
- Fast, reliable free Wifi
- Family dinners
- Organised activities (canyoning, motorbike tours)
Really, it’s the family dinners that make this hostel stand our from the crowd.
They bring all of the staff and travellers together in an informal setting that turns an accommodation into a home.
The family also love to include cultural exchange opportunities. This includes things like traditional cooking classes and making a visit to a local market.
Showers are hot, beds are comfy and the breakfast is always changing.
There is a mix of dorm rooms (sleeping up to 8 people) and a private room on offer.
Location: Stay here and you will be around 1.4.km from Lam Vien Square and 1.6km from Xuan Huong Lake. The French Quarter isn’t too far, and you’ll be surrounded by great restaurants with a supermarket nearby.

2. Tigon Dalat Hostel
Choose to stay at Tigon Dalat Hostel and you won’t be disappointed. Honestly, it comes in as a very close second as one of the coolest hostels in Da Lat.
“We are all brothers and sisters no matter what colour we are!” – The hostel team.
This simple backpackers is a home-away-from-home in true Vietnamese style.
Put simply: the staff are lovely, the vibe is amazing and the location is fantastic.
One important thing to know about Tigon is that there are no private rooms here, only dorms.
And the dorms are rather on the large side!
Choose between a basic and deluxe 20-bed mixed dorm. This makes it a top place for meeting other travellers.
What are the differences between the two? Well, in the deluxe version the beds are super private, with a curtain, lamp and plug socket.
There is even a mix of double and single beds in the room!
Here’s a handy list of other cool things about this hostel:
- Family dinner every second night
- Free breakfast
- Reception open 24/7 = no curfew
- Common area w/ billiard table
- Awesome views from the balcony
Location: Situated at the end of a quiet, safe alley around 1km from Dalat Market. A great location for immersing into local culture and enjoying local food. Da Lat city centre and bus station are a short walk away.

3. Pretty Backpackers House
To carry on the homely vibe and superb staff welcome, we want to introduce Pretty Backpackers House as a third option.
You may find yourself muttering the words “this is the most homiest hostel I’ve ever stayed in.”
This really is such a great backpackers hostel in a central location.
Amenities which make it homely, are:
- Super thick duvet and mattress
- Wider beds than usual
- Free breakfast
- Lockers which can fit a laptop
Once again, this is a hostel that only offers dorm rooms, no private options. Sorry couples!
There is a total of 4 dorms here, with a maximum of 8 people per room. They are pretty basic and certainly the kind of room you will only use for sleeping in.
Enjoy your free time out on the rooftop and enjoy dinner at the long dining table. This is where people come together.
Are you a dog lover? Say hello to Dollar whilst you enjoy your complimentary tea and biscuits on arrival.
We love the simple details like this, don’t you?
The staff will gladly help you book buses, and they rent out motorbikes if you’re interested in exploring this way.
Location: Nearby to some great street food, around 2km from Lam Vien Square. The night market is easy to access on foot from here.
