Mountain Hostel Tarter (TOP Choice with Swimming Pool!)
Of course we couldn’t help ourselves and had to kick-start this Andorra guide with the BEST hostel in the entire country: Mountain Hostel Tarter!
This is of course a 5 Star Hostel and definitely one of our absolute faves when it comes to outdoor adventure. This accommodation is a XVIII century building, a former old barn, completely reformed for being a 5-star hostel. You will find free coffee and tea, and a fully equiped kitchen to cook your own meals.
The absolute jewel of the crown is their outdoor swimming pool – hot tub. This, my dear traveler, is one of the many points that makes the difference between Mountain Hostel Tarter and the other hostels in Andorra.

Looking for the best Andorra ski hostel? This is it!
The large outdoor terrace is certainly the best place to spend your time when you’re not out and about.
If you’ve had enough of the fresh air head inside to the cosy living room that’s home to a fireplace, sofas, TV, games etc.
Cool: The occupation of the hostel is just 33 people. We like the intimate atmosphere this creates.
They have now 3 double rooms as well as 4, 5 and 6 people dorm.
Oh and one last little thing to make you smile; check out is as late as 11am.

Best Hostels in La Massana
La Massana is located in the northwest of the country, surrounded by towering mountains.
This is the place to be if you enjoy outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking and mountain biking. Otherwise you can just soak up the natural beauty and quaint architecture of the town.
And! This is the only Andorra location we could find two hostels worth mentioning here.
1. Secret Spot Hostel Andorra
It becomes apparent quite quickly how gorgeous Secret Spot Hostel is – all you have to do is look at the photos.
“A typical Andorran house made at the end of 1800 totally renovated and in the middle of the historical center of La Massana.”
The best bit? Walk a short 400m and you’ll be at the VALLNORD cable car… ski/snowboard in winter and mountain bike the rest of the year!
What’s more, the shared dorms here come with single beds rather than bunks. Win!
Anyone looking to splash out on a private room will not be disappointed. Look what they include:
- Private expresso machine
- Bottle of water per guest
- Bathtub (in the Suite for 4 people)
- Toiletries & hairdryer
Meet people in the common area which feels very much like a homely living room. Oh and the kitchen even has dedicated shelf space per room!

2. Font Andorra Hostel
Typically, our #2 recommendation in La Massana is just as impressive (sorry, not sorry). Kick off your shoes and enjoy the recently renovated Font Andorra Hostel.
There are plenty of rooms to choose from here – everything from private, family and shared – so you can expect an array of traveller types.
Expect modern perks such as keycard access, a huge kitchen-dining area and dorm rooms with private bathroom access. Very nice, indeed.
Also, there is a great bar and restaurant right next door which we recommend. There is no curfew at the hostel so you can stay out as late as you like!
We really enjoy the layout of the rooms and the size of the lockers which are super handy for big backpacks and outdoor gear – they have them in the rooms and also dedicated lockers for skis etc.

Best Hostels in Escaldes
Located quite close to the capital Andorra La Vella, Escaldes is a pretty little town and we recommend visiting the Parc Central whilst you’re here.
This is a good stop off point if you’re heading north or south to/from the capital. Yet, we’d only recommened one night here really.
Alberg Els Andes in Escaldes
Alberg Els Andes is located in Escaldes and the first entrance to Grandvalira is encamp. It’s around 5km far away from Grandvalira and you need take bus.
It’s a well set up little hostel that’s obviously been designed to encourage a social atmosphere among travellers. Yipee!
Make sure you make the most of the services:
- Shared lounge
- Ski storage space
- 2 kitchens
- Terrace
All of the shared bedrooms come with bunks, sleeping 2, 3, 6 and 10 people.
This is definitely one of the best cheap hostels to stay in Andorra.
Super cool: Check in here is automatic and once you’ve made your booking you’ll be sent all of the access instructions and assigned a bed and a locker.

Best Hostels in Andorra La Vella
Now you may be asking, why did we leave the capital city of Andorra ’til last?! Well, unfortunately there aren’t any impressive hostels here, and even this one we’ve inclued does not offer shared dorms.
Still, if you need a place to stay for a night or two in this south-western city, we recommend this hostel Andorra La Vella…
Barri Antic Hostel & Pub
We’re not sure why, but Barri Antic Hostel & Pub only offers private rooms despite the use of the word Hostel.
But don’t let that put you off thinking this is a hotel – it didn’t happen to us!
Obviously the saving grace of this place is the onsite pub. This is a great communal area which brings being together alongside the comfort of returning to your own private room when you’ve had enough.
It’s a really cool place with bright decoration and themed rooms ranging from comic books, to movies and music.
Overall it offers a modern vibe but still with that homely feeling so that you can properly relax and don’t worry about creating a speck of dust!
Guests can book themselves in to a classic suite for two, a twin, triple, quadruple or even family room.
Some of the amenities include ski rental, kitchen, television area and reading zone.
