It is possible to visit Mostar in a single day, with many travelers visiting from Dubrovnik as a day trip. The city’s main attractions, the Old Town and Mostar Bridge are a short walk from nearly all nearby accommodations, where you’ll pass an abundance of markets, bazaars, mosques, and buzzing cafes and restaurants to keep you entertained for the duration of your trip. The majority of day tours last no more than six hours. Hostel Miran , a cozy, family-run hostel in Mostar, is a backpacker favorite.
This well-reviewed hostel is only a five-minute walk from the bus stop (meaning you won’t have to drag your luggage through the crowded, cobblestoned center) and a ten-minute walk to Mostar’s Old Town and the Mostar Bridge, both UNESCO World Heritage sites. The two 4-bed dormitories and two private doubles are always spotlessly polished, promising guests a cleanly and comfortable stay. It is the most wholesome social hostel where everyone is just keen to meet others. Majdas brother operates an amazing tour of the surrounding areas around Mostar! It is very easy to see why people refer to this place as the ‘one more night’ hostel.

Lovely Home is a cosy and clean hostel in a great location, within 800 m of Old Bridge. The house is very close to the river and has many rooms. The home has everything you could need. Mostar Downtown Hostel
Mostar Downtown Hostel is located 300 m from Old Bridge Mostar and less than 1 km from Muslibegovic House. It’s a very social hostel and the family who runs it is so nice and very helpful. The property offers tours to see the surrounding area, and the tour guide is extremely engaged and knowledgeable.
Rooms have air conditioning and there is a nice space to sit and meet others.

Hostel Nina
Hostel Nina is absolutely fantastic hostel. The facilities are very clean. The kitchen has all basic amenities you need to cook. Free homemade breakfast is awesome! They have a small common area where you can easily meet other travellers. The hostel is in a fantastic location with easy access to all main parts of the city! Everything is very clean and spacious! It’s a family run hostel so you’ll see them all the time and they’re all very very friendly and nice. Best part is their tour… you have to do it, it will be the highlight of your trip!

Hostel Dino
Hostel Dino is perfectly located near the old town of Mostar, exceptionally clean and good size for a private. It is a great value for you money and rooms are large, clean and very quiet. The owner, Tanya, is super friendly, making you feel at home.

Hostel Taso’s House
Hostel Taso’s House is located in Mostar, just a two minute walk from the Old Town. The hostel has everything you need and everything works well (wifi, hot showers etc), and they have a good, large lockers. A decent breakfast is also included.
It feels like visiting a family – they create an atmosphere to be able to socialise with everyone.

Hostel David
Hostel David is located near the bus and train station. It has a nice structure with a huge veranda where you can share moments with other guests. It is exactly what you need in a hostel – it is well priced, well located and the staff are excellent. Flights to Mostar?
Mostar have an airport and its name is Mostar International Airport. But – there is a very little flights to this airport. So basically, you will not get to Mostar by plane. You can fly to Sarajevo (130 kilometres by bus) or Dubrovnik (131 kilometres) or even Split (169 kilometres away), and then you can travel to Mostar by bus, or even by the train from Sarajevo.
This is how basically all travelers do it. keep it in mind, Bosnia and herzegovina does not belong to the European Union or Schengen. Meaning, you will need your valid passport to travel here. We have also met people doing day trips from Dubrovnik to Mostar. Personally, we do not think a day trip only is worth it the hussle and the time you spend in the bus. It is better to spend one or two nights here, and then continue to Sarajevo or Dubrovnik from here.
